Norwegian Gem – What to do
There are all sorts of places to pass the time on board Norwegian Gem. All manner of refreshing beverages can be found across the 965 foot structure, from coffee at Java Café to an exciting array of beers and whiskies at Maltings Beer and Whiskey Bar. Magnum’s Champagne and Wine Bar and Shakers Martini and Cocktail Bar make it perfectly clear what they bring to the table, while 1930’s themed Starbar and lively nightspot Bliss Ultra Lounge provide a mixture of cocktails and pleasant atmosphere. Evening entertainment can be found with the spellbinding Vegas-style shows at the Stardust Theatre and the dance floor that materialises in Spinnakers once the sun goes down.
During the day, visitors can take advantage of the swimming pool, hot tubs, basketball, volleyball and tennis courts, jogging track, fitness centre, health spa and beauty salon. Different ends of the relaxation scale can be found in the tranquil surroundings of the library and the flashing lights and electronic noises found in Norwegian Gem’s Video Arcade. Further thrills can be found at the Gem Club Casino, featuring traditional favourites roulette, blackjack and slots, among others.
Norwegian Gem – Where to eat
There is a clear contrast between the more traditional surroundings and menu of the Grand Pacific Main Dining Room and the modern artistic decoration and creative food found in the Magenta Main Dining Room. This just goes to show the efforts the Norwegian Cruise Line goes to in order to ensure all tastes are catered for. Those looking for a nice piece of steak need look no further than Cagney’s Steakhouse, while Italy and France are represented by La Cucina and Le Bistro respectively. Diners can assert a greater control over their meal with a visit to the buffet at the Great Outdoors, or alternatively the Tequila Latin/Tapas Restaurant.
The Staterooms of Norwegian Gem
Norwegian Gem’s magnificent Garden Villas can easily accommodate up to six people in their palatial surroundings. Guests can enjoy the Villa’s private terrace and garden, complete with hot tub and dining area. Inside, three separate bedrooms meet at the central living area and dining room. The Owner’s Suites and Family accommodation exceed all expectations in terms of space, comfort and décor. NCL’s stylish Penthouses are also available, with the privacy afforded by the individual balcony area a real bonus. The Mini-suites has a separate seating area, private balcony and luxurious, spacious bathroom.
Balcony Staterooms, Oceanview Staterooms and Inside Staterooms, whilst containing fewer luxuries, are very comfortable and equipped with more than adequate storage space, providing the perfect personal space for guests to relax in during their voyage.
