Begin first by exploring Angkor Wat, easily the most famous and best-preserved of all the temples within the Angkor Complex. Next, visit the ancient walled city of Angkor Thom, the last capital of the Great Khmer Empire under the reign of Jayavarman VII. Bayon Temple, Baphuon, the royal enclosure, and the Terraces of the Elephants and Leper King are the main elements of this 12th century masterpiece. Have lunch at a local restaurant nearby, before continuing to Ta Prohm Temple for a visit. End todays sightseeing by watching sunset at the Angkor Archaeological Park. Please note: The Central Tower of the Angkor Wat complex is closed on Buddhist holidays and on all other days has a limited number of visitors allowed at any given time, under regulations from UNESCO. If you wish to visit this tower, you will be required to wait in the queue alongside all other visitors. The ability to do this will be determined upon the groups’ schedule.
