Santorini Cruises

There are around 6000 islands and inlets scattered around the Aegean and the Ionian Seas, all of which belong to Greece. Only 227 of those are inhabited. A cruise around the Greek islands is the best way to explore the most popular of these.

Cruise Lines

When it comes to cruise lines frequenting the Greek islands, the choice is immense. You need to decide whether its one of the biggest and most popular cruise lines that you want to sail with or a smaller, more luxurious ship that will take you to the harder-to-reach isles.

  • Azamara
  • Celebrity Cruises
  • Norwegian Cruise Line
  • Princess Cruises
  • Regent Seven Seas Cruises
  • Seabourn
  • Silversea

A great deal of the Greek island cruises will depart from Athens. We recommend you spend a day or two in the Greek capital before or after your cruise to explore some of its unique historical heritage.

The Best Time to Travel

The Greek islands are a beautiful place to visit any time of the year. When you go depends on what it is you are planning to do once there.

  • March, April, November are good if you want to go hiking, sightseeing and exploring. The weather is comfortable, warm and dry, plus the crowds of tourists are smaller.
  • May to October is the time to swim, sunbathe and enjoy the islands’ pristine beaches. July and August are the hottest months. Do consider booking in advance as this is the high tourist season for the Greek islands.
